I don’t think that it’s that at all.

Global Warming Denial comes from two sources:

1)distrust of scientists and “the elite” in general

2)Short-Term concerns knowing that there is a perceived short term personal cost for a long term societal benefit.

Maybe that’s why Republicans deny the existence of global warming. They have “aspirational bias” that someday they’ll be able to afford a spaceship to another planet.

Well if McCain didn’t fully vet Sarah Palin, I doubt be would have vetted Sam, I mean Joe the Plumber.

That said he has something I’ll coin “aspirational bias” where he acts based on the tax bracket he wants to be in (and who among us wouldn’t like to make more than $250,000 a year) rather than the actual one.
